Sammy Gawad

Practising civil engineer. Sammy inspects and tests existing structures, including bridges and service reservoirs, and writes the reports AECAI drafts. He built AECAI's web console, Android app and cloud platform. BSc Construction Engineering Management, Ulster University, Quigg Golden prize.
Mohamed Ragab
Co-founder and Director
Structural engineer turned AI researcher. Mohamed designed and trained AECAI's defect detection models, which grew from his MSc dissertation on deep learning for multi-defect detection. MSc Digital Construction Analytics and BIM, with distinction, Ulster University.
Why we built AECAI
Sammy writes structural inspection reports, and on his own inspections about 7 hours in 10 go on the write-up. Mohamed’s MSc research on deep-learning defect detection is where AECAI’s models started. AECAI puts the two together: photographs in, a drafted report out, and your engineers still deciding what it says.
